It’s always nice to take a break from Real Estate and go out for a nice dinner!
So where do I go if I want a good steak in Durango?
The Hamiliton Chophouse is my answer
Currently located in the super secret hidden spot 1/2 way up to DMR, at the Glacier Club.
About 15-20 mins drive from town.
Attire: casual to as fancy as you wish!
Ambiance: romantic, relaxed but classy
I would recommend prior reservations, specifically on weekends.
Dinner began with a Ruby Red Martini ($8.00), and a bright green warm spinach salad ($7.00) tossed with a light red wine vinegar dressing, topped with beacon, boiled egg and sesame seeds.
For my entree, I thoroughly enjoyed the tender, buttery taste of the prime rib next to my mountain of garlic mashed potatoes ($24.00). True home style portions! They gave me a steak knife, but I barely needed it. My guest had the onion crusted halibut topped with a lemon beurre blanc, side of sauteed asparagus.
For dessert I devoured the pistachio crusted key lime cheesecake ($8.00). Wow! Talk about creamy, rich, delicious and the lime added a crisp ending.
Service was great, waiters and staff all appeared to be attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.
Expect to spend on average $50.00/person for a full dining experience (e.g. wine, appetizer, entree, shared dessert).
Prices compare to Ken and Sue’s, Seasons or the Ore House.
Anniversary, birthday, family in town, or extra special date? Bring your guest here, you won’t be disappointed.
