Durango’s Realtor Restaurant Reviews – Where I can get Mediterranean to go?!
Durango’s The Cairo Cafe’!
This authentic Egyptian Deli and Cafe’ is located on Main Ave around 10th Street. The owner is actually from Egypt so when they say authentic, they mean it!
This place has to be physically the smallest restaurant establishment in Durango. This is a great downtown lunch stop if you need to grab and go. My experience was delicious food (counter service) with a warm greeting with a big smile. There are a few tables with fun Egyptian decorations to sit at – but this might not the best atmosphere for the claustrophobic type personality.
Consistently good food with flavor! The Gyro is a must have item but another favorite of mine is the koofta kabob which is made with local all natural beef, served on a flat bread pita with lettuce tomato onion and house tahini sauce! Expect to spend $10-$12 per person.
For you strong, bold coffee lovers, pick up some traditional Turkish coffee. Grab a quick dessert like some Baklava or Koonafa for your sweet tooth fix. Too crazy?….they have muffins and scones too!
If it’s your week to throw the exotic dinner party and you can’t even spell tatziki sauce, there are also many deli items available to purchase by the pound.

Let’s play a game…can anybody guess what this menu item is?
